La résurrection de Jésus a été largement abordée ces dernières décennies par l'exégèse du Nouveau Testament. Il n'en est pas de même pour la théologie. Pourtant, les représentations hésitantes de certains chrétiens, comme l'indiquent les sondages réguliers, le dialogue avec d'autres religions, le succès grandissant de doctrines telles que la réincarnation, provoquent le théologien à rendre compte de la résurrection du Christ. Il manquait une véritable synthèse dans le domaine de la théologie catholique française. Cet ouvrage voudrait répondre à cette attente. Au début, il y a l'événement pascal. Si la foi pascale se fonde en définitive sur la foi en Dieu créateur et sauveur, elle trouve son origine dans les apparitions du Ressuscité et le rassemblement de l'Église primitive dans la force de l'Esprit. Ainsi, les évangiles ne constituent pas une preuve de la Résurrection au contraire, ils en sont issus. Des questions essentielles sont abordées sans détour. Comment la foi pascale a-t-elle pu naître au coeur des disciples ? Quel sens théologique donner aux récits du tombeau vide et aux apparitions du Ressuscité ? Peut-on qualifier la Résurrection d'événement historique réel ? Que signifie la résurrection de Jésus pour la conception chrétienne de Dieu ? Toutes ces questions renvoient en définitive à cette prise de conscience : croire que Dieu a ressuscité Jésus de Nazareth, c'est croire que Dieu agit dans l'histoire. Ce livre représente le meilleur état actuel de la recherche sur cette question centrale du christianisme. Très bien accueilli par la communauté théologique lors de sa première édition en 1997, il est l'objet de cette nouvelle édition, revue et corrigée.--The resurrection of Christ has been the subject of much study by exegetes of the New Testament. But the same cannot be said for theologians, even though the hesitations of certain Christians revealed by regular surveys - the dialogue with other religions, and the growing popularity of notions such as reincarnation - all invite the theologian to account for the Resurrection of Christ. A real synthesis in the domain of French Catholic theology was lacking. This book fills that need. At the beginning, there is the Easter event. If faith in the Resurrection is founded definitively on our faith in God the creator and saviour, its origins lie in the apparitions of Christ resuscitated and the assembly of the primitive Church in the strength of the Holy Spirit. Thus the Gospel is not proof of the Resurrection: on the contrary, the former emanated from the latter. Essential questions are approached unswervingly. How was faith in the Easter event born in the hearts of the disciples? What theological meaning should we give to the empty tomb, and the apparitions of the risen Christ? Can we consider the Resurrection to be a real historical event? What does the Resurrection signify for the Christian concept of God? All these questions bring us back to one realisation : to believe that God resuscitated Jesus of Nazareth is to believe that God intervenes in History. This new, revised edition of a book that was warmly received by the theological community when it was first published in 1997, presents state-of-the-art research on this pivotal issue of Christianity.
